On the 27th, MBC’s The Third “Idol” Track and Field Championship is held at Jamsil Arena in Seoul. About 150 “idol” singers participated, including the ones from Super Junior, T-ara, Sistar, and MBLAQ.
Approximately 20,000 fans attended, and even before the game, they shouted out the names of groups they cheer with banners.
“Idol” singers formed ten teams from team A to team J, and as they entered the stadium fans gave big cheers. Then, Hwan Hee, Suzy, and Choi Min Ho swore to abide by the rules of the game as representatives of all “idol” singers.
After that, Shorry J reenacted a scene from 88 Seoul Olympics, and Boom, Shindong, Leeteuk, and Kyuhyun made a spoof of Stevie Wonder.
The performances were followed by the actual game of 100 meter dash. At every game Boom interviewed each competitor. Shindong, Baek Chung Gang, and Kang Min Kyung have fallen down during the race.
Following the 100 meter dash, 100 meter hurdles continued with eight teams of eight “idols.”
Besides the games, “idols” seemed to enjoy the championship, playing around on the grass field. They also shared the lively atmosphere with their fans.
There was a lunch break for an hour from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., and finals for 100 meter dash and hurdles followed, as well as other track and field games such as long jump. “Idols” greatly enjoyed the game with one another for it is such a rare chance for most of them to gather at one place.
The third “idol” Track and Field Championship will air on September 13.
